Lots of changes!!

Well, Caden and I have had some pretty big changes in our lives the past couple weeks... A lot of people have been asking for details, so I figured it would be easier to do a blog post so everyone can hear what we are up to.

Well for starters, we both finished school at Weber State and graduated with our Bachelors in Health Promotion. Caden and I have have always had the dream of starting our own wellness center and so we have been doing a lot of research on that trying to decide exactly what we wanted to do and how we wanted to start it. After a lot of research, I really started getting interested in Esthetics (we want to tie in a "spa" aspect to our wellness center). It is something I have always been interested in, but I have always known that I wanted to get a degree in something first. Luckily for me, this kind of ties in with my degree. So I began  researching lots of schools and decided I would start in November. The day before we left for Las Vegas (August 24th) I set up a meeting to go meet with an adviser at Cameo College to get a tour to make sure this is the school I wanted to attend. After meeting with her, she told me that if I started in September, I would get a pretty big scholarship, and that it was ONLY available in September. For me, this is huge because I have to pay out-of-pocket for everything.

So.. after a lot of talking it over with Caden, we decided it would be smarter to start in September. So I will be going to school to become a Master Esthetician. Oh yeah, and I had to go full-time, which meant I would not be able to work anymore. Caden had been looking for jobs down in Salt Lake because we were wanting to move down here anyway since our house had been for sell for the past few months. Caden was able to talk to his old managers at PC Laptops, and they were more than willing to let Caden come back and work for them. (Keep this in mind, this has all happened in 1 day)

PC Laptops wanted Caden to start in a week and my schooling also started in a week, so this meant we needed to move out of our house, put it up for rent, move in with my parents and quit our jobs all within the next week. So as soon as we got home from Vegas, we made it all happen. We put in our notice at work and began packing up our house.

So here I sit, 9 days after all of this has happened, completely moved into my parents house and ready to start school tomorrow and Caden ready to start his new job tomorrow. Our plan now is to get our house rented, save some money, then get a place of our own down here in South Jordan. For the meantime, we remodeled the basement at my parents a little and made it nice and homey for us.

Here are some pictures of our new little home:

We are so excited to be back in our home town and close to family and friends and we are so excited for this new journey we are taking. It is going to be so different than what we are used to, but to make our dreams come true, we have to make some sacrifices! I am so grateful to have Caden in my life and such a supportive husband. He never thought twice about making changes to support me and I cannot thank him enough!!!

21st Birthday in Vegas!!!

Well it's safe to say that I had the best 21st birthday I could have ever asked for!!! We have been planning on going away to Vegas for my birthday for the past year since I am the last one of all my friends to turn 21, so I definitely wanted to celebrate!! We woke up early on my birthday (August 25th) and flew to Vegas. My parents and Caden's parents came with us! Everyone kept saying to me... You are going to Vegas with your parents and in-laws for your 21st?? Everyone thought that was so weird. These people obviously don't know my family, they are the ones who taught me to party!!

At the airport waiting to go! :)
Once we arrived in Vegas, we went to our hotel. Dave got us an awesome hook up at Planet Hollywood and we had a way awesome suite. Apparently neither of us took pictures of the room, so I can't show quite how awesome it was....

My first legal drink!!

Walking into our room!!
The rest of the day we spent it laying out by the pool and doing a little gambling!!! My cousins, Sabrina and Samantha, and my aunt Kathy drove down to spend time with us in Vegas!

After laying by the pool all day, all of us girls went up to get ready to go out for my birthday celebration. I have never been to Vegas before, so I had no idea where I wanted to go out for my birthday, all I wanted to do was go somewhere where I could dance! We ended up going to eat at Dick's Last Resort. This is a restaurant where the servers are supposed to be "dicks" to you and call you names and stuff. It was pretty funny and we all had a lot of fun with it. Afterwards we were trying to think of somewhere we could go to dance, and all of a sudden this live band began playing at Dicks. They were playing such awesome music with such a variety. We all just decided we would make the best of it here and went and created our own dance floor. We ended up having such a BLAST here!!!

4 girls getting ready in one bathroom = 1 big mess

Me and Sabrina did not know what drink to order, so the waitress just brought us something. I am not sure what it was, but it was seriously the most terrible drink ever!! It was also buy one get one free. So we had 4 of these to drink. YUCK!

We spent the next day shopping, gambling and at the pool. Me and Caden got really lucky and we ended up winning about $1200. That night we went to dinner at Ceasar's Palace at a restaurant called Spago. It was very fancy and expensive, but very yummy!!

The day after this we headed back home!!! I had so much fun on this trip and am so grateful to have such amazing people in my life who came to make my birthday the BEST!! I love you all :)

Arizona Trip #3

So we took a little vacation a couple weeks ago. We went to Arizona (of course ;)) with my parents. This time we went for an entire week. It was so nice to get away. Me and Cade have not had a full week off together since our Honeymoon 2 years ago!!! We loved it because it was not full of craziness and plans (like our lives normally are). This vacation was all about relaxing and spending time in the sun! We loved it.
This time, since we were there for a week, we decided to drive. Google Maps says it takes 12+ hours to get there from Ogden, now if any of you know Caden, you know he is a little speed demon. We made it there in under 10 hours. Normally I would complain with the speeding (and I did a couple times), but I was just so anxious to be there and having 2 extra hours of vacation was worth it to me :).

Here are some pictures of our drive there-

We had to make the back of the car super comfy for the dogs just to get them to sit still- to my surprise they did really well

No matter how hot the weather is, You will always find Koda under a blanket. What a silly boy!

Most of our trip was spent hanging out by the pool and laying out in the sun.

Koda floating around with me :)

We also made dinners at home just about every day. This was really nice for me since I have turned into the pickiest eater (not by choice). For those of you that have been following my annoying stomach issues, I am now "lactose" and "gluten" intolerant.

We did go shopping at this place called Westgate. They had some cute stores are cute restaurants. We ate at Margaritaville.

I was starting to get really sunburned, so Cade and I went out one day just the two of us to the mall and went shopping again and went and saw "Rock of Ages".

Another day we all drove up to Lake Pleasant and spent the day there. It was way pretty, but the beaches were really rocky. Oh and Dave lost his wallet there, it fell in the water- that was no fun at all.

On our last day we went and visited Caden's sister, Rainie, and her family. We love to spend time with them because their kids are always so excited to see us and they are so cute and funny!!

Afterwards we went to dinner at this yummy Italian restaurant that was all natural and GLUTEN FREE. So delicious!

Well that was our trip! We had so much fun and came back literally burnt to a crisp from the sun.
