Graduation!!!

Well... We got to walk for graduation on April 20th. Technically we are summer grads, so we will finish up our last few classes this summer, but we got to walk this Spring! We both graduated with our Bachelors in Health Promotion and Human Performance! It is so surreal that all this hard work is coming to an end.. I honestly have no idea what we will do once school is done :) I am going to have to pick up on some new hobbies!!

Anyway, the day of graduation was pretty long. Me and Cade woke up early in the morning to go to our commencement at the Dee Events Center. A couple hours later we got to actually walk. It is so awesome that we got to do this together. It is so great to share this big accomplishment with each other!

Here are some pictures of our big day..

Waiting in line at our commencement

With Grandma and Grandpa Billings
Mom and Dave (For some reason we don't have a picture with Paul and Sue on our camera, but they were there )

What's a blog post without a puppy picture???

We are so thankful to our parents for supporting us through all of this and so thankful for them coming to our big day! We are also thankful to Grandma and Grandpa Billings for coming and supporting us as well!

Yeah!!! We did it :) :) :)

Running!!!

So me and Caden have 2 different 5K runs coming up. We wanted to do some last year, but we never really had time to do the training. To be honest, we don't have much time now either, but we signed up anyway. I am also not a big runner, but I want to do something to push myself and get me motivated!

The first run is in May. It is the Susan G. Komen run. Caden's mom, Sue, signed us up. They are doing it at her work. I am actually really excited to do this run. I will be running for my Grandma Marlys who was diagnosed with breast cancer a while back. She is such a fighter and doing awesome right now! I will be so proud to run for her!

Here are some of us girls with her a year ago, we love her so much :)

The next 5K we will be doing will be in September. This run we are doing with a bunch of people from my work. It is called Man vs. Mud. It's a race in the mud with a ton of obstacles. This is going to be so much fun! Our team name is going to be "The Skid Marks" haha. Except we will have tire marks on our shirts :).

Watch this video of Man Vs. Mud. It looks like a ton of fun :)

We are pretty excited to take part in these and have something to start training for!

Caden's 22nd Birthday!

A couple weekends ago we went down to Salt Lake to celebrate Caden's 22nd Birthday. We spent the day with Caden's parents going shopping. We got to go to Fashion Place Mall for the first time since it was newly remodeled. I wanted to shop for myself so badly, but I stayed focus on Caden and he got some really cute clothes! Afterwards we went out to dinner with Caden's parents, my parents and our friends, Colby and Amanda. I honestly cannot remember the name of the restaurant we ate at, but it was really yummy :).
Afterwards we went back to Caden's parents and played a game called "The Great Dalmuti". It is a fun game, but Caden's family puts their own twist on the game and makes everyone wear these really goofy hats. Here are some pictures of us at dinner and afterwards playing the game...
(Sorry these pictures are kind of crappy... I forgot my camera so they are all off my phone)

Can't leave the puppies out :)
On Caden's actual birthday (which was the day after this), we went and saw Act of Valor. I actually really liked this movie. The acting was not the greatest, but the fact that it was actual Navy Seals made it really awesome!

So there you have it! Happy Birthday Cade, I love you so so much!

Valentines Day

This year for Valentine's Day, we decided to celebrate the weekend before hand. We each picked out something we would like to do and decided to split the weekend in half. On Saturday, I wanted to go see "The Vow" and go out to dinner. We went to Bombay Bites, an Indian restaurant. We have been really into Indian food lately and it was soo yummy. "The Vow" was pretty cute, but a total chick flick. Every time I would look at Caden he seemed to be drifting off to La la land while watching it. Luckily he loves me.. :)

The next day, we went to the Dew Tour. This is what Caden chose to do for Valentine's Day. We had a lot of fun up there. It was at Snowbasin, which is only like 15 minutes away from our house (One of the only plus sides to living up in Ogden- being close to the ski resorts, lakes, and many outdoor activities). We got to watch some awesome ski competitions and also got to walk around and look at all the little booths.

As far as gifts go, I thought we had decided not to get each other anything and just spend money of some fun dates. Supposedly Caden thought other wise and ended up surprising me with this...

Forget the flowers and chocolates, he got me Rocksmith and an electric guitar. This is a game that is supposed to help you learn the guitar. I am so excited he got me this because I have been wanting to learn to play the guitar FOREVER! So happy to be checking this off my bucket list soon :)

The surprises did not stop there either. Caden also got us 90 minute massages. He works with a massage therapist and was able to get her to come out to our house and give us each massages on Valentine's Day. This was so wonderful and so awesome that I was able to get it in my own house! I felt bad that I did not get anything for Caden, but he kept telling me that he gets equal enjoyment out of both of the gifts he got me (which is true).

So that was our lovely Valentine's Day! :)

Arizona

A couple weeks ago we got the chance to go to Arizona for a few days. That was mine and Caden's Christmas gift to each other. It was soo nice to get away. My parents have a house there in Surprise, AZ so we went with them and stayed at their house. It was such a nice and relaxing weekend. It was in the 70's the whole time. Unfortunately it wasn't warm enough to get in the pool, but I was just fine sitting next to it :).
While we were there we did not do much besides relax and hang out. One day we did go and visit Caden's sister, Rainie, who lives in Arizona. We went to this HUGE outlet mall there (It's a good thing it is not here in Utah or I would be BROKE) and played at this arcade with Josh, Kloe, Curt and Rainie. It was a lot of fun and I am so glad we got to spend some time with them. The rest of the weekend was spent sitting outside, sleeping and eating :). Here are some pictures I took from the trip. I forgot my camera every time we went somewhere, so they are all kind of boring :)

Christmas

This year for Christmas we stayed at my parents house. We decided a few years ago that we would switch between mine and Cadens parents each year forChristmas until we have our own kids. We think it would be kind of lonely waking up by ourselves Christmas morning.

So anyway, this year was spent at my parents. We had so much fun as usual. Tyson and Seasen came over and Dave made us all Holiday Martinis. This was a tradition we started last year. We then all opened ourChristmas Eve jammies which has also been a tradition forever...

Christmas day we got really spoiled. We both got a ton of clothes. We got a juicer and Ninja blender to help us with our new diet. We also got this awesome Tossimo coffee maker. It makes coffee, tea and hot chocolate. It is super fancy.

Overall we had a great Christmas!!!

Review of the past

So as the new year starts, I have decided to come back to blogging. I originally created this blog to document wedding ideas, but now I want to start blogging regularly.

I am going to start with a review of the past year...

Caden and I are still in school. We are both completing our Bachelors in Health Promotion and will be graduating in July (yay!!!).

I finished my schooling as a Medical Assistant and got hired by a Pediatrician in May. I absolutely love it!

Caden is now working at a pain and rehab clinic as an IT guy. He has also recently started doing MA work. This has been a huge change for him, but he is having fun!

We celebrated our 1 year anniversary of being married and hit our 2 year milestone of living in our house.

Our goals for the new year include graduating college and moving back down by our families! We are so excited to see what 2012 has in store for us. It will be a big year :)
